Walton Peak Flying High Academy children have raised £200.62 for Ashgate Hospice.

Ashgate Hospice is Walton Peak Flying High Academy’s chosen charity and all of the school’s fundraising efforts go towards supporting their work at the hospice based on Ashgate Road in Chesterfield.

For this latest fundraising effort children held a raffle for Easter Eggs which were variously donated by staff, Tesco and other local businesses.  Children handed over the proceeds of the raffle to Ashgate Hospice community fundraiser, Lynn Jones, on a visit to the school this week.

Nicola Gilbert is a teaching assistant and Charity Team lead at the school based on Whitecotes Lane. She said, “The children, families and staff at Walton Peak are really passionate about supporting the community and always step up to support our fundraising efforts.  Ashgate Hospice is an amazing charity that we are really committed to supporting.”

Mark Parkinson is Head Teacher of Walton Peak Flying High Academy and said, “Once again our children and their families have shown that our Walton Peak school community never fail to rally to our fundraising efforts. The work that Ashgate Hospice carry out is of great service to the community and we hope to continue supporting their work in future. I want to say a big thank you to those who donated Easter Eggs for the raffle and for the community’s support in helping our wonderful children to raise such a significant amount of money.”
