The LEC Offer
Our offer
“Despite the complexity, literacy is the global metric we use to assess health and the competence of communities” (National Council of Teachers of English)
Literacy is connected to so much and therefore, when we develop a professional learning offer, we have to keep this in mind. Our LEC offer has been produced with the aim of supporting schools to improve the literacy levels of young people.
The main way we support schools is through our membership offer. This comprehensive offer enables schools to access the very best professional learning opportunities and resources. However, there are also some sessions which are open to all staff for free or a small fee and the opportunity to work with us as a bespoke package.
Watch this short video by Carl introducing the offer for 2026/27 to learn more.
Literacy Leadership in action
Our FREE Literacy Leadership in action networks enable us bring school leaders together, providing school literacy and English Leaders with a great opportunity to keep up to date and connect with others.
The separate primary and secondary sessions focus on the following aims:
- To have a theme each time where leaders gain knowledge and suggested resources about a specific leadership and literacy focus (E.g. Monitoring cycle for writing)
- Keep up to date with the latest research and national guidance.
- Develop an understanding of LEC and regional opportunities
- Network with other leaders.
MAT/LA English Specialist and Leader Networks
Our informal FREE English Specialist and Leader MAT/LA network is for anyone who leads English and/or Literacy across two or more schools.
These sessions support one of our aims focused on bringing the education sector together so that effective partnerships are empowered to deliver the very best literacy support for schools. Partners from across the region are invited to collaborate, build peer networks and learn more about how the LEC and other opportunities can support their role.
