Bright future ahead as three Leicestershire primary schools join The Flying High Partnership

Three Leicestershire primary schools have become part of a leading multi-academy trust which is consistently ranked in the nation’s top five for performance.

Launde Primary School, Foxbridge Primary School and Glenfield Primary School, formerly of Scholars Academy Trust, officially joined the Flying High Partnership on 1st December.

The Flying High Partnership holds the distinction of being the highest performing primary trust in the East Midlands and is ranked top five for performance in the country, consistently achieving results for children which surpass national benchmarks in all key indicators.

The primary-only trust partners 38 schools across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and most recently, Leicestershire, and has an impressive 100% track record in maintained or improved Ofsted outcomes in all of its schools.

Paul Goodman is Deputy CEO of The Flying High Partnership, and he says that the Leicestershire schools have been working closely with the partnership in the lead up to their conversion. Paul said, “We are delighted to be working with schools in Leicestershire, fostering supportive relationships in this new area alongside our schools in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

“During the preparations for conversion, it has been a privilege to work alongside the leadership, staff teams and governors at all three schools. Their dedication has helped lay strong foundations for our future collaboration, dedicated to providing the best possible opportunities for all of our children. We are confident that with Flying High’s support, the three schools will go from strength to strength, supported by the collective expertise and encouragement from across our whole partnership.”

Shelley Meer is Headteacher at Launde Primary School, based on New Street, Oadby, and she said, “We are thrilled to be joining the Flying High Partnership as of 1st December. This partnership marks an exciting new chapter for our school, and we are already benefiting from the incredible support and expertise Flying High provides. Their commitment to collaboration and improvement aligns perfectly with our vision, and we look forward to continuing our journey together to ensure the very best outcomes for our pupils.”

Pam Bridgwood, Headteacher of Foxbridge Primary School agreed, commenting, “We are excited to be embarking on this new journey and have already benefited from support and access to a wide range of professional development opportunities. We are confident that becoming a formal part of this partnership will open up even more opportunities for our school community, enabling us to continue growing and improving. Our hope is that through this collaboration we will be empowered to achieve the very best for our children, staff and families, ensuring that Foxbridge thrives and fulfils our vision of nurturing, empowering and succeeding together.”

Sukhi Tibbles is Acting headteacher at Glenfield Primary School and she said, “At Glenfield we are excited to become part of the Flying High Partnership and look forward to working alongside dedicated and inspiring colleagues across the trust. By sharing our strengths and expertise, we can build an ambitious and optimistic future for all our pupils.”

Alongside board colleagues, Sarah Richards, Vice-Chair of Scholars Board of Trustees, oversaw the transition of Scholars Academy Trust schools to partner with the Flying High Partnership.

Sarah said, “The transfer of the schools in Scholars Academy Trust to the Flying High Partnership is both significant and reassuring for our school communities. This decision was taken with great care, and I am confident it is the right step to ensure our schools continue to flourish. Flying High Partnership shares our values and commitment, and I know the schools will thrive under their guidance.

“Our team of trustees has worked tirelessly to secure the best possible outcome, and I would particularly like to acknowledge Graham Smith, our Chair, for his steady and dedicated leadership throughout this process. It has been an honour to work alongside such thoughtful and committed individuals.

“While I will now be watching from afar, I do so with complete confidence in the headteachers and staff who continue to serve these school communities and I look forward to seeing the schools go from strength to strength as part of the Flying High Partnership”.
