Walton Peak Flying High Primary & Nursery Academy in Chesterfield has been commended in a letter from the Secretary of State for Education, Bridget Phillipson, who praised the school’s outstanding performance measures, placing it among the highest-achieving schools in the country.
In the letter, Bridget Phillipson, congratulates the school for its 2024/25 results, highlighting in particular the excellent outcomes of pupils in receipt of pupil premium. These outcomes were part of 80% of all pupils achieving the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths at the end of year 6, a figure which sets the school well above national averages.
Bridget Phillipson said in the letter, “Your school’s performance places it among the very best nationally, and this is a significant achievement. “This success reflects the dedication of your staff and the hard work of your pupils. It shows what can be achieved when ambition and commitment come together. Thank you for everything you do to give children the best possible opportunities to succeed.”

Mark Parkinson is Headteacher at the school based on Whitecotes Lane in Chesterfield.
