LEC Secondary Offer

The Secondary Offer
” High literacy rates have been found to correlate to everything from better access to economic opportunity, better nutrition and environmental sustainability” (National Council of Teachers of English)
Literacy is connected to so much and therefore, when we develop a professional learning offer, we have to keep this in mind. Our Secondary offer has been produced with the aim of supporting secondary schools to improve the literacy levels of the young people. In 2025/26, this is particularly focussing on reading and writing.
Secondary Reading Challenge
In 25/26 we are supporting secondary schools to meet the reading challenge with our offer. The intention is for schools to look at some key areas of reading support for:
- Struggling readers
- Reading for pleasure
- Reading fluency
We are also provided access to a range of writing CPD too.
The first session Supporting struggling readers in KS3 is free to access.
