Children of Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School hold Colour Dash for charity raising a whopping £3000!

Children at Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School in Sutton in Ashfield had fun in the sun during a colour dash fundraiser for the charity Lifting Children’s Hopes (LCH).
Children and staff alike ran the school field through clouds of colour on a sun-filled day, and monies collected have currently topped a whopping £3000 for the good cause.

Lifting Children’s Hopes (LCH), is a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people across the East Midlands. It provides a range of services including mental health support, financial assistance for low-income households, and also enriching experiences and family events, including short breaks and day trips for children.
Natalie Blackwell is F2 Teacher and PE Lead at Mapplewells Primary & Nursery School and she said, “We are so grateful to the school community for supporting our children in their fundraising efforts for LCH charity.
“Over the last year, the charity has provided invaluable support to a number of our children and their families, and this fun event was a meaningful way of our school community to give something back.”
Pupil Axel is in Foundation 2 and said, “I loved it because I got to splat the grown-ups!” Fellow Foundation 2 pupil, Hattie said, “I liked it because they threw paint at me and I threw it back.”
“I loved it”, said Maggie (Year 4), “because I liked being colourful.”
Year 3 pupil Thea said, “I liked that the teachers were fun and friendly and I was colourful.”
Noah, from Year 5 said, “It was fun, and I enjoyed getting colour everywhere!”
